Festival of Flight, 2008

The morning was very foggy, damp and cold, arrival at Barkston was quickly followed by kettle and frying pan operations. In no time at all the mist started to clear and the first visitors arrived.

Alf Tunnicliffe practised the art of relieving our guests of cash in exchange for a raffle ticket and access to the ultimate flying site in the country.

This idea seemed to catch on, in no time at all there was a queue!

Only when people had paid would our chief gate operations manager 'Maz' press the buttons to allow admittance.

Soon the sun was out, aircraft were flying in blue skies and life was wonderful.

People enjoyed themselves at the easy going event covering many different disciplines of our hobby.

All too soon the day was over.

A huge thankyou to Alf and his team for organsing this spectacular day, the weather was superb the support ever stronger. We can't leave this page without a thankyou to Maz who not only did catering and gate duties but also voluteered in the 'Tardis' top up duties as well!

Thanks to you all, see you next year!
