We need you!
This site was setup to trial area meetings using modern technology, following the last council meeting, the trial has been extended and greater participation from area members is required. The forum hosted here is going to be used to conduct area business including hosting virtual meetings. The forum will be multi-levelled and access to the various levels will be set as follows, (if you can imagine a 3 tier wedding cake it might help).
At the base are any members of the Midland Area, they can be club members or countr y members. Any issues they wish to discuss may be discussed at this level area wide.
At the next level up are club delegates, these are members who have been put forward by their club to represent their club at area meetings. Only club delegates will have access to this level, they can of course participate at the lower area members level too.
The top level is the Area Council level, at this level the virtual meetings take place, votes taken etc. Members at this level can also participate in the lower two levels.
This system will allow meetings to take place with many more participants than has been possible before. There is little or no cost involved, no travel (very green) or inconvenience to the participants. Members can submit their views and a much better, fairer picture will evolve.
Please will you help us to trial this system, if everyone who is in the Midland Area would take the time and trouble to register with the forum and participate it would be greatly appreciated. This will enable us to have a more meaningfull trial of the system and if succesful it may be adopted nationally, if this happens, everyone - clubs, country members and individuals can have their say!
